Title:
Storage Drawers, Thuya Lodge, Study
Type:
Subject:
Description:
One of a set of ten small drawers. Label on front of box "Lewando"
Pressed board with brass handles.
Box contains records, correspondence, mortgage deed, and notes related to Charles Lewando, Cambridge, MA. Much of the records are 1870-1877. It appears from these records that Curtis was the executor of the estate of Lewando who died in 1877. It is thought that perhaps Lewando is related to the future wife of Curtis, Amelie Lewandoska. This needs to be researched and verified.
Originally found stacked on shelf next to bookcase in study at Thuya Lodge. Removed from the Lodge and taken to the Preserve offices for storing.
Probably used to store various papers and records by Joseph Curtis.
