First wood frame house built in 1820 by John Manchester Third - was located near the shore, west of Northeast Harbor Swimming Pool. The studio at right was built by his son, Ansel Lewis near the turn of the century.
It was later altered and became a summer cottage called "Old Homestead" (see item 4694 , Photo 0927)
