Matheson Tea Room
Subject:
Description:
Elevations, floor plans, details
Roc's Comments:
Joanie Matheson needed a get away place. A garden house or teahouse. A place that was hers alone and she could escape to it and read or write or just sit and think. It is interesting how many of these little "getaway" places there are here on MDI. A phenomenon of the intense summer season and its sometimes draining impact on the matriarch and hostess. This project was a real pleasure to do. Joanie is a special person and I could sit and draw it by hand and do it all without staff and complications and I love the result and think Joanie does as well.
